Georgia Medicaid EHR Eligible Professionals
Eligible Professionals (EPs) include:
- Physicians (primarily doctors of medicine and doctors of osteopathy)
- Nurse practitioners
- Certified nurse-midwives
- Physician assistants (who furnish services in a Federally Qualified Health Center or Rural Health Clinic led by a physician assistant)
Eligible Professionals cannot be hospital-based and must have at least 30 percent Medicaid patient volume. Pediatricians are considered eligible with a Medicaid patient volume of 20 percent but will receive two-thirds of the incentive amounts specified unless their Medicaid patient volume is 30 percent or higher.
Eligible Professionals can receive up to $63,750 during their six years of participation in the program. The Year 1 payment is $21,250; each subsequent year is $8,500.
Pediatricians will be considered eligible with a Medicaid (Title XIX) patient volume of 20 percent but will only receive two-thirds of the incentive amounts specified unless their Medicaid patient volume is 30 percent or higher. Unless otherwise specified, Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP, Title XXI) patients are excluded from the patient volume calculations. In Georgia, CHIP is called PeachCare for Kids®.
